#2 Candy Battle - M&M'S

M&M's are the best candy because they are made with real chocolate, they aren't sticky and they make you happy!
M&M'S are made of chocolate. It has been scientifically proven that certain ingredients in chocolate have been proven to trigger feel-good chemicals in your body. What could be better than a candy that lifts your mood? Without even knowing, eating this candy will make you happy and put you into a much better mood.
Unlike most candies that are mainly artificial candies, M&M's are made from real chocolate. Although chocolate is not the healthiest food around, It definitely beats chewing a block of artificial candy. Chocolate also gives you energy. Real candy is definitely the way to go.
A problem that most people face when eating candy is the stickiness and the mess. If you decide to purchase M&M's, you won't encounter this issue. M&M's have a hard and colourful outer shell with a chocolate inside making them a much less messier snack than other sticky candies that get stuck in your teeth. If you're looking for a delicious and cleaner snack, choose M&M's.
Advocates of starbursts suggest that starbursts are the best candy because they have different and intense flavours. The banana, strawberry, cherry and orange flavours are now old as well as basic. They are the same old fashion flavours every typical candy has. Intense is certainly not the term for this candy. It's 2013 now and people are getting tired of the same thing. Be different and make sure you double check the definition of "intense" when discussing starbursts.

Overall for a real, clean and mood lifting candy eating experience, be sure to choose M&M's.

  1. Lauren,
Great job. I liked how you wrote an introductory and concluding sentence in replacement of the paragraphs that we were excused from. I liked how you used different persuasive techniques per fact/paragraph. In the first you used evidence, the second logos and the last ethos. I loved how you said ‘have been proven to trigger feel-good chemicals in your body’ in the first paragraph. It was very well constructed. In the second paragraph you used the bold option very effectively by setting a point in the concluding sentence with the world ‘real’. The description of the candy in the third paragraph helped to convince that it was the best candy above all. In the opposing view paragraph you were very smart by cutting down the argument by pointing out the inaccuracy in starbursts advocate’s vocabulary. You used the dictionary meaning to make it inexact and discrediting the site.
    Nice job.
