#3 Persuasive Speech- Coke vs. Pepsi

Today I will be speaking to you about why Coca Cola is better than Pepsi. For starters, we all know that Coke is the real deal. It is the most popular soft drink in the whole world. Why have a remake when you can have the original? Coke is a delicious thirst quenching bubbly soda that people have been globally enjoying for years with many variations such as Diet Coke or Cola Cherry. The very few people who prefer Pepsi may argue that its better and tastes sweeter. It does taste sweeter however it is not better. Comparing a regular Coke to a Pepsi, regular Coke is healthier by 10 calories. Pepsi also has more sugar which may I say rots your teeth and makes you fat. Advertisements for Coke are also far more entertaining and attention grabbing by using it's polar bear mascot making it more emotionally branding. In comparison to Coke, Pepsi does not have as strong of a hold globally nor does it taste as good.  Deep down inside with or without this speech I'm sure you all know that coke is far better tasting, healthier and just better in general. Thank you.

#2 Candy Battle - M&M'S

M&M's are the best candy because they are made with real chocolate, they aren't sticky and they make you happy!
M&M'S are made of chocolate. It has been scientifically proven that certain ingredients in chocolate have been proven to trigger feel-good chemicals in your body. What could be better than a candy that lifts your mood? Without even knowing, eating this candy will make you happy and put you into a much better mood.
Unlike most candies that are mainly artificial candies, M&M's are made from real chocolate. Although chocolate is not the healthiest food around, It definitely beats chewing a block of artificial candy. Chocolate also gives you energy. Real candy is definitely the way to go.
A problem that most people face when eating candy is the stickiness and the mess. If you decide to purchase M&M's, you won't encounter this issue. M&M's have a hard and colourful outer shell with a chocolate inside making them a much less messier snack than other sticky candies that get stuck in your teeth. If you're looking for a delicious and cleaner snack, choose M&M's.
Advocates of starbursts suggest that starbursts are the best candy because they have different and intense flavours. The banana, strawberry, cherry and orange flavours are now old as well as basic. They are the same old fashion flavours every typical candy has. Intense is certainly not the term for this candy. It's 2013 now and people are getting tired of the same thing. Be different and make sure you double check the definition of "intense" when discussing starbursts.

Overall for a real, clean and mood lifting candy eating experience, be sure to choose M&M's.

#1 Persuasive Advertising - Candies Foundation

I have chosen this 'Candies Foundation' ad about teen pregnancy. The Candies Foundation is a foundation that works to help prevent teen pregnancy. Now before I even selected an image, this one had already caught my attention by having a picture of Fergie. Using a celebrity is a great way to grab readers attention to an advertisement which this one does evidently. People tend to think that if a certain celebrity uses a certain product or says something about one that it will automatically be good. The colours of the ad are especially eye catching to girls, seeing as they used pink. I had a look on the website and most if not all of their ads feature celebrities such as 'Call Me Maybe' singer Carly Rae Jepsen, Vanessa Hudgens and even Hilary Duff."Not really the way you pictured your first crib, huh?" This image and quote definitely triggers a sense of pathos. The ad means that most teenagers would miss out on the chance to have a regular crib (room) if they got pregnant and had a child which they would then have a literal babies crib. It really makes us teenagers think wow, I do not want to be in that position. It also brings in a sense of Logos by saying that "Raising a baby can cost over 10,000 a year; one night could cost you more than you think." $10,000 is a lot of money that no teenager wants to pay, or even has. This ad isn't necessarily persuading you to buy a product, but it definitely does a good job of stating its point and persuading you to well, not get pregnant and to check out the foundation to help others who are.
